It’s been almost a decade — maybe even longer — since I last visited Sembawang Hot Spring… and wow, how things have changed. 🧖🏻♀️🌿

Back then, there wasn’t a “park” as we see today. It was a much simpler, with just a few taps in the middle of the space. If you wanted to soak your feet, you had to bring your own pail. And for those who wanted to try cooking onsen eggs, you'd have to bring a metal pot — not a plastic bucket! (Well, the entrance was also not easily spotted). It was rustic, very DIY, but somehow charming in its own way.
Coming back now to the newly revamped Sembawang Hot Spring Park brought back waves of nostalgia, but also a sense of amazement. The place feels much more organized, inviting, and thoughtfully designed (especially love the egg cooking station).

There are also now central communal hot spring pools where you can comfortably soak your feet — no need to lug around a pail anymore! The pools are tiered to retain different levels of heat, so you can ease into it gradually.
It’s a great spot to unwind, especially on cooler days. You’ll also find designated areas to cook your onsen eggs, shaded seating spots, and a lovely garden trail surrounding the park. Everything feels cleaner, greener, and more accessible.

If you haven’t visited Sembawang Hot Spring Park yet, this might be the little sign you need to check it out.
Hot tip (literally!): If you're not used to high temperatures, don’t dip your legs in all at once. Go slowly — it’s much more bearable that way, especially for first-timers or those sensitive to heat.
P.S. Just a heads-up — there’s quite a long walk from the entrance to the hot spring area with minimal sheltered area. While there is a public toilet and a small café located under shelter, and a few sheltered seating areas at the hot spring area, they probably won’t offer much protection if there’s a heavy downpour. So remember to bring your own brolly or raincoat.
