Chinese New Year Shopping at Takashimaya Basement 2

This year Chinese New Year; Lunar New Year falls early on 25th January 2020, It gives us a shorter period of time to prepare as well as shopping for the goods. Other than Chinatown's Chinese New Year Night market, you can also plan your shopping at Takashimayasg basement 2.


You can plan your Kiasu shopping from now till 23rd January 2020 at Takashimaya, as they have prepared a wholesome of CNY goodies at the fair in front of its well-known fountain. 

This is a foodie's heaven, as you may shop not only the decorations for Chinese New Year, Goodies Gifts, Crackers and snacks, Nian Gao (Chinese New Year's cake - 年糕), Asian's favourite Gua Zi (瓜子), Peranakan styled cookies as well as a steamboat soup base and more!

Starting from this beautiful biscuit which looks like the legendary ice gem biscuit, but it's not it. It's Cheddar spiced gems! This is a re-created recipe freshly made from Baker's Brew (Booth C10). 


Can't stop telling people about the Unique cookies flavour as well as the appealing details of this year's Chinese New Year snacks. It's kind of impressive. I especially love this Rose Tea cookie with a strong fragrance of the rose tea, originally made by Home's Favourite (Booth G3).



If you like those cookies and would love to give to someone you love, Baker's Well (Booth F9) and My Mum's Cookies (Booth F1) provides very nice designed packaging as well. 


Other than cookies gifts, you can also hop by Nest Bloom's Bird nest (Booth E11). It's just like a makeover version for the Bird nest, turning into gorgeous blooming flower in a box. Perfect for Impressive gifts. 



If you love gifting Nian Gao (年糕) as a form of a gift, do drop by Peony Jade Restaurant (Booth C1) as well as East Ocean Teochew Restaurant (Booth A2).

Coming back to the snack topic, East Ocean Teochew Restaurant also sells Chinese New Year's snacks such as the trending Crispy Fish Skin in Singapore.


You can instantly bite and munch at Hang Heung (Booth K2) if you feel hungry halfway buying all your goodies. From Hongkong to Singapore, now you can enjoy their hometown snacks (家鄉小食) here at Takashimaya, be sure to Da Bao (打包) some home for your family too!

Not missing out Bake Inc (Booth G1) and it's Rasa Sayang (Booth C6), try some samples and buy the ones you loved most.


If you are looking for a much healthy option, here's Pecan Nuts snacks at Salon De Royal Kyoto (Booth D2). It has gift packaging as well if you would love to share this unique snack with your friends.

Both freshly baked, made food, as well as raw and ready-to-cook CNY goodies, are all good and ready for you to buy it back home. 


Here's ready-to-use Pen Cai (盆菜) from BBQChef (Booth A1) and Ginseng Chicken Stock from Togi Korean Kitchen (Booth E4) that is all good for a meal over reunion dinner or a steamboat party.


Last but not least, Chinese New Year Gifts can be anything from cookies to tonics. The tonics booth is at Wing Joo Loong (Booth H2). Tonics are especially good if you're giving to the elderly.
