12 Ways you can Reuse, Reduce and Recycle at Home

There are many things we can do and contribute to make Earth a better place. Many people have heard a lot about Recycling things but not so much about Reuse and Reduce. Reducing waste is the best option out of the 3Rs, it is the most effective way to manage waste by not creating it in the first place.

If you're thinking of throwing away an old item, you can come into place by Reusing it. Stop having the mindset that you can only throw the items away, you can start to brainstorm how you can reuse them in a better way or giving them away to someone who needs them more than you do. One's person's junk is another person's treasure.

In fact, the most commonly known Recycle is the last stage of the waste hierarchy. Here are 12 Ways you can Reuse, Reduce and Recycle at Home:

7. Stop buying stuff

One of the biggest things you can reduce wastage is to only buy what you really need. Stop buying unnecessary items as if there's a demand for each individual item, the production and manufacturing journey will never end.

8. Use Metal Straw

Stop using disposable straw, some people will suggest Bamboo straw but I will say no too. Because it's not sustainable nor durable. From my past experience, I bought a few Bamboo straws but it turned out I used them twice and they became moldy. My suggestion is to use a Metal straw as it is easier to maintain, clean, and bring along.

9. Buy Secondhand Products

If we keep buying new, factories will keep manufacturing. Often the best way to repurpose large household items is to purchase Secondhand as well as don't throw your old furniture, sell/give it to someone else who needs it.
