I’m not an expert in anything sporty, nor am I particularly fond of basic exercises, but last year, I decided to take on a new challenge—Aerial yoga.
At first, I was hesitant. Every session, I found myself thinking, “This is too hard. Maybe I should just give up.” But here I am, one year later, still going strong!
The credit really goes to the patience of the instructors and their clear, easy-to-follow instructions. They made it so much easier for me to break down the moves step by step. After that, it was just about practicing and gradually building the strength in my muscles to progress to more advanced poses. There wasn’t a single moment where I felt mentally forced to push myself beyond my limits—I simply took my time, going at my own pace.
Fast forward to today, I’ve attended more than 30 aerial yoga classes at The New Place near Beauty World MRT station.
I’ve definitely seen myself improve and grow through aerial yoga, not just physically, but mentally too. I still remember my first class—it was a complete fail! I was too scared to even try the tombalek (opposite pose). But now? I can hang in that pose for a few minutes without any issue. Aerial yoga has really helped me train my mind to stay calm and centered. So guess what? I’ve just signed up for another year! It’s been such a rewarding journey, and I’m super excited to keep going.
If you’re someone who loves a new challenge and gets bored easily with mainstream things or regular workouts, maybe aerial yoga is something you should try too. Sometimes, the most rewarding things come from taking it slow and staying consistent. Who would have thought that aerial yoga would become such a fun and empowering practice for me?
